Introduction

Purpose​

Limbr Reports enables Jira users to create reports that unlock insights from their Jira data, directly within the Jira platform.

Why Limbr Reports?​

Easy to learn and use​

Limbr Reports was designed for Jira users who want to leverage their Jira data to make more informed business decisions, without having to learn a new set of tools or concepts. If you don't know what a data cube is or you're a little fuzzy on dimensions vs. measures, that's okay! If you're comfortable working with spreadsheets, you'll immediately feel right at home using Limbr Reports.

Reports are essentially data tables, consisting of a set of rows and columns. Each row represents a single Jira issue, and each column represents the value of a single field for that issue.

You can create a basic report in just a few clicks by:

  1. Selecting a data source to determine which Jira issues are represented as rows in the report.
  2. Adding columns for the fields you want to display in the report.

Powerful features​

While Limbr Reports is very approachable, it doesn't skimp on powerful features that enable you to slice and dice your Jira data any way you see fit. You can configure your report to convey the intended insights by:

  • Configuring data formatting to customize how field values are displayed in the report.
  • Configuring aggregations to summarize the field values in the report.
  • Configuring filtering rules to further narrow which rows are included in the report.
  • Configuring sorting rules to change the order of the rows in the report.
  • Configuring grouping rules to segment the rows with nested groups.
  • Configuring display preferences to fine tune the report's appearance.

Advanced users can take it even further by:

  • Configuring formula fields to dynamically calculate field values that don't exist in the underlying Jira data.

Once you're happy with your report, you can share it with stakeholders using granular access permissions. You can also export the report's data in CSV or Excel format if more advanced analysis is required.

Jira-only approach​

Limbr Reports is only concerned with Jira reporting and was purpose built to run seamlessly within the Jira user interface. Unlike other solutions, there is no need to export your Jira data to import into another tool, or to periodically synchronize your Jira data with an external service.

Privacy-first architecture​

Limbr Reports was designed with a focus on privacy from the ground up: your Jira data never touches our servers, and reports run fully within the boundaries of your Jira permissions model (i.e. report viewers can only see the data they otherwise have access to within Jira).
